i use msn on 2 computers daily, the same contact list and im always swaping msn on both of them. recently i started noticing double contacts on msn when im on my desktop but never on my laptop.
this never happens on my laptop

does anyone know how i can fix this?

Does one of the contacts in each pair have a book icon next to them?

prehaps a screenshot of what deAd is on about will help...check the attachment.

Other than that, maybe removing the contact cache might help

and i thought about deleting the cache but i cant find it in the folders..there like 2mb big but theres no files in them

C:\Documents and Settings\<XP account name goes here>\Contacts is the location to head to.

theres nothing in that folder...

ah that's right..folders are hidden, so if you go Tools->Folder options->View->Hidden Files and Folders->Show Hidden Files and Folders should be selected->OK-> Should see your email address in the folder, that is your contact cache

and id just delete it?

yes...and be warned the first time you sign in after you delete the cache it will take longer to log in. This is s because the cache is redownloaded clean from the server.
