I've had a problem getting my handwrite tab to work.

In short, I've looked around and can't find a fix, so I'd appreciate a little help. Apologies if this is the wrong section for posting.

This is what it looks like:



My mouse cursor looks like it usually does, a little arrow. I can toggle all the options fine, select different sizes, eraser, everything - but when i click nothing draws.

I've installed Journal Viewer and it's latest update, after doing a windows update, on my legit copy of windows xp professional. I don't have any problems with Adobe acrobat, which uses the Journal viewer (from what i have read anyway).

When i load Journal Viewer on its own, i get:




Searching the error, I've found relatively little info. I tried d/ling various related .dll's that i found in links on forums with people having -similar- problems, to no avail.

I've done fresh installs of messenger, clean with no add ons, with plus!, everything.

I've tried fresh installs of Journal Viewer.

Then reaching out, tried different mouse drivers (didn't really expect that one to work).

I'm fresh out of ideas, and can't find any more information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For completeness sake:

I'm using Version 8.1 of Windows Live Messenger, (Build 8.1.0178.00)
Messenger Plus! Live - version 4.21.0.270, released 16/05/2007
Windows XP Pro SP2

AMD athlon 64 x2 3800, oc'ed to 2.7
2 gig of ram
Geforce 7600 gt oc'd slightly
All drivers updated, and totally out of ideas

Been a few days, hope it's okay i bump.

Just in comparison.. does your C:\Program Files\Windows Journal Viewer folder look exactly the same as mine (the files, amount of files and size of files)

All the sizes, files, dates, locations are the exact same for me.
