O.P. Enhancing Video Card Performance?
I got Test Drive Unlimited and I am trying to play it but apparently my video card is pretty ghetto and it lags so much. For example, when I hit gas, the car moves, and keeps moving for like 20 seconds without me touching the keys. I set all the video options on the game to the lowest setting, and I get this problem. Are there any changes to settings I can make outside of the game to enhance its performance.

My video card is ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series. (N)

My screen resolution is 1440 x 900.

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: Yes I have tried playing at a lower screen resolution. Even 640 x 480.

Try riva tuner.

Dont know if it will work for your card, and dont push it too far or you will fuck it up. Just like i did to my 7300GS.

i think you *could* and lower your resolution to get a bit more fps...

The only other thing you can try is playing at a lower resolution.   Hopefully your wide screen display supports 4:3 modes and you can try 800x600 or even 640x480.

My regular screen resolution is 1440 x 900, just included that incase it was important.

I set everything including the screen resolution to the lowest possible in the game options. It didn't help.

lol yes but I'm worried about the "push too far" part of it. Just wanted to see if there were any safe ways in Windows that I could increase its performance. I'll probably need to look into a new video card.

Well you cant push it too far really, you will get a warning if you do. Just increase the speeds by 5MHz each time, play the game, keep doing it till it improves. But if youre system freezes, take it down by 10MHz. Also, monitor your temps too.

Or just wait till someone who knows what they are doing comes along, Ive only been overclocking mine for about a week. :P

*Im not resposible if you blow your computer up or anything like that (A)
