is it possible to get rid of the 'advertisement' and 'search the web' bars at the bottom of the contact list??? they really get annoying:P:P

you can do it by patching messenger, the one i use is Mess Patch

Yep Mess Patch is available for WLM 8.1 and 8.5

Edit:
Look on the front page and scroll down a bit and you will see the Mess Patch download links for WLM 8.1 and 8.5

also, can anyone make it so that you can edit your nickname just by clicking/double clicking etc. on it??? just like editing psm but for the nickname...

Doesn't currently work with Windows Live Messenger 8.5 Beta which by them asking if it works on WLM 8.5 they are using.
...there used to be a signature here :)
