The install files get saved to the hdd..? I have done it hundreds of times.. I'm guessing you haven't even tried.

i haven't tried it but, windows xp needs the cd after a boot they don't get saved to the hard disk unless the setup unpacks the whole disk, so i think your better off using some sort of command prompt

If you want to install Linux from Windows without burning a CD, you're going to either need a powerful boot floppy (unlikely to find one these days) or a bootable USB key.

There's a post about it here somewhere already.

Okay, to clarify everything, im trying to install OSx86 and the websites dont specify the parts i need to hear, like when you boot up... or what program to use when burning... or how long you should wait for something to happen when you try booting!

Thats why i turned to you guys because i know i get structured responses :)

Anyone got an easy step-by-step, i understand all the keywords, its just it never works for me :( ive had two different install images as well.

anyone? help?

If you want OS X x86, then buy a Mac.

What you're doing is almost certainly illegal.

And you also need to install the images to second hard drive, if I remember correctly, you can't use a partition. :P
