Go to plus! preferences then conversation then chat logging then uncheck "save all my chat logs by default"

Let me know if it doesn't help.
If only I knew what I should put here

In Messenger Itself...

Tools -> Options -> Messages -> "Automatically Keep A history...." and "Show my last conversation...." should both be unchecked if you want Messenger to not record conversations.
