Okay so I have Vista Home Basic and I am thinking of buying a printer. Now with most printers you buy you get software with it right? You install the software, use your printer/scanner and BOOM everything works fine the software runs with the printer/scanner.

But with me having Vista I dont know if any printers are compatible with my computer or if it is just the software. In Argos a printer said it would work on XP but said nothing about Vista, then on another website it said it works with vista but on the other website you didnt get any software with it?

Is it like ... Say if I got JUST the printer, is there something on windows that works with all in one printers? So I dont need a program for when I scan something?

Just check the manufacturer's website to see if they have vista compatible drivers before you buy it.
