Hi,

This has annoyed me for a while now and this poll inspired me to create this thread.

If you have disabled the sharing folders and try to drag'n'drop a file on one of the contacts in your list, it asks you if you want to enable sharing folders.
Well IMHO sharing folders just plain suck and I don't want to enable it. I just want to send the file if I drop it on one of my contacts.

I don't know if this is possible with a script, but I do know that I lack the skills to code this. Anyone want to give it a go?

note: I use WLM 8.1 (don't like the vista look almost every app seems to get recently) so if this is fixed in 8.5, let me know and I might update

Could a skin change a commandID to a file transfer instead of sharing folders, or is that just thick?

That's not possible... You can only use things already handled by Messenger or MP!L.

A file transfer has a cmdid doesn't it?

Well, the button in the conversation window does, but you cannot handle the drag and drop and then call the cmdid for the contact that the file was dropped on. It's hard for me to explain. Basically, skinning can only use already handled stuff by MP!L or Messenger.

Yeah you cant do it because a cmdid is only used when a button is pressed. When you are drag and dropping it ignores a cmdid and uses what is hard coded into WLM.

Basically any event detection is not possible in a skin. The only one that is possible is one where you want it to execute a cmdid when you press a button.
