rare problem up ahed

I've got MSN 6.2 and WLM 8.1 installed, they both work one at a time and can even run simultaneously. however, using WLM will reset two Options-settings for MSN 6.2.

It unchecks "This is a shared computer so dont display my tabs" and
checks "Play a sound when contacts sign in or send a message".

annoying as hell, any workaround/fix/suggestions for how to fix this?

I can't really help because the obvious problem is that they both shouldn't be installed at the same time and doing so will cause problems.

Just wondering.. why do you want both installed at the same time?

I never really liked the newer msn-versions. been using 6.2 up until just some days ago when i, also, installed 8.1 (partly due to "scripts" not being supported in the old Plus!3.63 and the ability to strip WLM down badly )

What don't you like about the new version? Maybe you could use Mess Patch to tweak it to your liking? Or use Old School Messenger Skin with WLM 8.5.x ?

Just a few ideas.

already tweaked it to a reasonable fair liking thanks to A-Patch. I would have liked to combine the A-Patch with skins but that didn't work very well. turned out Various skins change various id-tags on elements so they re-appear after having been removed with A-Patch (the Ads for instance ). Also I utterly hate animated custom icons, not to found of getting high resolution animated BJs thrown in my face every now and then .
