O.P. Live Mail auto-launch Messenger
Hi there

Aplogies if this has been asked/archived elsewhere, but I have had a wee look and cannot see it anywhere.

My issue is this - each time I log into Windows Live Mail (version 2008) it auto-launches Live Messenger (version 2008), with me appearing Online for all too see.

Can I stop:

a) Live Messenger auto-launching all together?, or
b) at least set my default sign-in to 'Appear Offline'?

Any help received will be very appreciated.

Windows Live Mail has an option about it. Search its Options carefully.

You can change your default sign in status in the sign in screen of Windows Live Messenger. You will see an option "Sign me as:     ". Change that whatever you want.

Thanks for that, I feel a bit silly now as it's on the first options tab that appears :$
