O.P. Help, Compatibility!
Hello friends, as you can see I´m a new user, hope you can help me, thanks in advance.
I made some skins for MSN 8.5 (working on photoshop & corel draw) from someones code and they work fine on it, but now im trying to make em compatible for 9.0 and 8.5 versions (its just i am so newbie), and I can´t figure out how to do that, I don´t know how to adapt this. So, I would really apreciate your help with this.

The first thing to do would be to get hold of the 9.0 resources as some of the picture ID's and the uifiles are different to 8.5
To extract resources go to Plus > Preferences > Custmoize! > Skins > Extract Resources
Having a read of the skinning documentation and willz skinning guide will also help you
Also have a read of the threads already created as you may find some of your answers there

I advice you to use some files compare software to compare the styles and definition files from 8.5 with 9... and then you will have a huge help to figure out all the changed stuff  that's my trick  !!! @warmth - Beta Testing a life!

Oh and an even simpler solution is to use Word's compare documents feature.

He could just ask someone that has 9.0 to extract the resources for him and send them to him via email in a zip file |

Thanks to all, I just need the code necesary to put a contact list background on version 9.0, but i really need assistance cause i dont know what to put in the styles/definitions files, so i ask you guys, How could be the code for a skin with this conditions:
1. Compatible for both 8.5 & 9.0 versions
2. Change the main windows pictures
3. Background on contact list
I´m trying to read the skinning documents but its a little hard for me cause i dont speak english, writing this post took me about half an hour, I really apreciate what you´re doing.
