Alrighty, Well i was going to open up my Windows Live messenger the other day and this came up :

C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I have reinstalled it about 5 times now I've completely deleted it and redownloaded it. I have virus scanned and nothing.

Can anyone help me fix this problem.

download dependency walker, open c:\program files\msn messenger\msnmsgr.exe, and tell us if anything in the top left column has a yellow question mark beside it.

Umm, if you have been redownloading it then you would/should be downloading WLM 8.5, and the WLM 8.5 executable is not located in that directory at all.
Default: C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe

Well i delete all of 8.1 and downloaded 8.5 and during the installition i go this

What are your computer specs? Someone else had the same problem because their computer wasn't good enough.

You can find your computer specs by right clicking My Computer > Properties then everything under 'Computer'.

Hmm... well i had been useing windows live messenger 8.1 for about 3 months no problems. then once i updated it wouldn't load. And it also doesnt let me download 8.1 again.

Ok, well answer my question in the post before, then I can try and help.

I've got the same problem as well. Can anyone help? My processor is 1.73GHz, 1.24GB of RAM. thanks
