O.P. Undecided  New message grabs focus
Hi,

Has anyone else seen this? If you have no open messenger chat windows and you receive a new message from a contact, it pops up right in front of whatever you were doing, e.g. typing a letter, and in most cases you end up typing some of what you were doing into the window chat.

No real harm done, but VERY annoying..............................

If you have a chat window already open and a new person messages (tabbed chat) it doesn't happen. This is a workaround, yes, but also not ideal. I'm not sure if it's a bug in messenger 8.5 or something else.

Any fixes? Better solutions?

Messenger 8.5, Plus! 4.50.0.312

Thanks.

I don't have that problem here. (8.5 & 4.50)

Could it be due to offline messages you receive: read this thread Tabbed chats order or some scripts & add-ons you use?

Are you appearing offline while this happens?
You have the intellect comparable to that of a rock. Be proud.

Nah, it happens both ways: either offline or online. :-(
