RE: Internet Security Suite
Do you have a NAT'ting router?

internet -> ISP device -> NAT router -> your PC

By security suite are you referring to 'software firewall' + some other junk?  Or are you asking about HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System)

NAT per se isn't a firewall, but it should be protection enough for you.  To properly use a software firewall you're going to need to understand lots of new things, and since you're not using one now, vicious circle, you're probably not ready to go there.  Especially if you're not running any public services on your machine.

If you're hell bent on a software firewall for the love of sanity STAY AWAY from Zone Alarm.  The tards fond of it also think overclocking is a great idea.  Outpost is where it's at.  Find some reviews.  Don't trust overclocking sites or anyone who endorses it

You should really start researching HIPS first

don't run one, unless you feel you really really need one i don't run one, i just run avast anti virus, and use my router's firewall

software firewalls are fine and i don't see anything worng with zone alarm, but on a lan they don't have much use exept to block outgoing traffic, the incomming traffic you see soft firewalls block is all internal to the lan

my opinion just use anti-virus

Yes i do and it has been doing a good job.

The only reason why i thought i would need one is because lately i got a Trojan Horse invade my computer (do not know how), i deleted it and did a full system scan so everything is fine now, but getting this Trojan made me think that i may need an internet security system

i'd just use a light weight firewall if anything internet security gives you resource hogging useless extras like spam filters and other rubbish

Well i use NOD32 V3 it has anti-virus, firewall, anti-spam and anti-malware ect. Its pretty fast and very useful. if you don't want extra things like malware and spam protection turn them off and it will take some resources off.  Its not exactly free but -ahem-...
No longer here.
