O.P. di 624 problem. Router Not broadcasting
Ok. So i was trying to play Steam, wheni noticed it not updating, and I was getting signed out of msn, and websites like gmail weren't working, in fact no websites were working, but when I typed my routers IP I got into the config,
so I thought if i get into the config, and where it said "WIRELESS,. ON ; OFF"
and If i checked marked off, It would cut the signal and to make the signal go back on i would just go downstairs, and press the reset button on my router, but no such luck. After doing that, my router just stopped broadcasting..

What can I do? I already resetted my modem and router, and when i click scan its as if the router isn't on, and the wlan led on my router isnt flashing, but the WAN (wide area network) is.

did you try, you know, connecting via a cable instead of wireless and turning the wireless back on?

Did he do a factory reset or just push the reset button? Reset button will turn it off and back on he would need to either hold it for a period of time with or without the power connected (depends on the router). Also wireless isn't defaulted to on...

Since when that is the most fucked up thing I have heard. Average n00b buys a router cause some techie at bestbuy says to buy this one brings it home and everyone is on their wireless. That is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in my life.

Get an RJ45 cable wire yourself into the router and enable the wireless again. Then force the router to release and renew ITS DHCP address and you should be back online. If not connect yourself to the modem can you surf? Yes call D-Link if not call your ISP internet is down...

I did try enabling wireless again, and it worked, but I saw the ssid, and it was with default settings no password but i couildnt connect to it, same with other people in my house, so obviously if after i restored default settings and factory settings and it still not working means its a broken router. Relax
