Hi Folks

On April first we released the newest version of the Apple Live Messenger Skin. A screenshot is attached.

What is changed?
- Some new lay-ouyt changes
- The Plus! Pref. is changed to the Apple Style
- The Skin contains options too
- More changes included ...

Looks fairly good, but unfortunately i won't download it as i am very strongly against Mac stuff, the only apple product i will ever own will be an iPod

within 3 seconds noticed some errors (Using 9.0)

•Logon Animation is UGLY! clean up those edges!
•Not replaced corners on contact list, big ugly grey blobs remain.
•Min Max Close, need a bit of padding
•Toasts need padding
•Skin Options, looks nice but dodgy having the section texts with a border going through them
•Browser Window Not skinned
•Contact Picker Windows not skinned (mobile picker, edit group etc)
•Winks, Backgrounds, DP, Emoticons windows not skinned
•Odd blue border along right and bottom in chat windows

•Plus Preferences minimize button is dodgy having a + and _ in one blob

Got some work to do mate

I see... well, right now I have no plans to change the way it works so you'll have to do with it. I suggest you just dont add any symbol on hover to solve the problem. I may change it in the next version to help skinners though.

mynetx...i looked at your apple live folder...and that + with - button is an image that has both...I think you edited your images with some kind of "disattention..."
besides that...

Log on animation is VERY UGLY!
the corners are HORRIBLE!
tons of windows aren't skinned yet (i can see my vista close in almost 70% of messenger windows...)
and your custom skinops has an image that hasn't been correctly aligned...

also... why do close your resources at a .dll? it's weird to go to a folder and only see a .dll...also...isn't it 1000 times harder to fix any problems with the images?

Hope you fix at least the borders, ugly buttons at the plus windows, windows that are not skinned ...and bring your skin to the top!! =)

The reason he uses a dll is to protect his work. Because there are people out there who just base their skins off other skins without asking and without crediting, making a dll is a measure you can take to make sure people don't bother to steal your work.

I think it sort of defeats the purpose of Plus! skinning since one of the major points of the skin system is the fact that you don't have to work with dll's anymore. It's just a bit dumb to have to make a dll to protect you work, its sort of a step backwards. But thats just my 2 cents anyway.'

It is not harder to fix problems on your part, but it is harder for other people to change images . Like working with dll's comes naturally to me (since I used to skin with them) but yeah I'm not going back anytime soon (plus some of my skins are too complex to even try to edit).

Anyway congrats on the release. I agree with nile that theres work to be done graphically, but it will get there in the end

There is snow leopard if you want a apple theme. if ur on XP you can get the mac min, max, close buttons.
