hi im using the deep blue skin with wlm 8.5 / plus 4.60
and i want to change this text

my desktop theme i  changed with resurcehacker

but it seems not working with msmsgr.exe

plz help

its is not a msgexe resource...nor a skin resource in deep blue
to change that, you would need to create an image to put there, plus adding it in the skininfo file...also some windows ask for custom code images to be replaced...
if you know the basics,  logos are pics:
90,94,20066 (live pearls), 659(for tab buddy), 1014 (live id logo),
and the texts are:
700 (windows live, white)
701 (windows live, black)
702 (messenger, white)
703 (messenger, black)
704 (alerts, black)
1742 (when ad is not loaded yet)
1075 (about wdn image)

thx for your reply but it dont make senses

i cant find any white "windows live messenger" picture

it seems to me i need to create an "complete" new skin :o

any other options?

i should reed the post complete :$


how can i put the changed files back after extraction ?

i guess i found "the place"
but i dont know how to save it in the skin :(

sorry for asking that stuff but i only want to change the text(A)
i dont want to learn all about skinning(H)

ok what you do is saved your modified versions of the images to your skins directory then in skininfo do a replace on the resource number that corresponds to the thing to be replaced.

if you need detailed instructions please let me know and ill post more detailed ones tonight when i get back from work.

check the SkinningDocs, at section that is about using/replacing pictures, it will be clearer and has examples!
