O.P. [Help]Html code doesn't show
Hey,
Sorry if this has been posted before but their are a lot of threads to look through and I don't know 'exactly' what I'm looking for...but:

When I add people certain ones come up with things like:

[c=#9E49FC] *name* [/c=1]

...and I was just wondering if there was any way of getting rid of the code to what it should look like?

- Cheers

IRC style formatting tags (which is what these are, rather than HTML which uses < and >) are formatted correctly only when using Windows Live Messenger and Messenger Plus! Live 4.

If you want to see these properly you will have to ask your contact to use the old-style formatting symbols. Or upgrade to WLM, it's your choice :)

Actually those are BBCode style tags which are used to add colours to messages and nicknames. As andrewdodd13 mentioned you would need Messenger Plus to view these formatted messages/names - I don't know what 'old-style formatting symbols'* he's referring to, as far as I know you have to install MsgPlus to view it correctly or it will remain as current.

* He may be referring to the old IRC style codes which were used in previous versions of MsgPlus but they will still show odd symbols unless you have MsgPlus installed.

Yeah Volv is right. Posting too early in the morning - and I was referring to old-style IRC tags. :)

I was thinking that the OP must have had Messenger Plus! installed in order to find this forum.

It looks like it is still morning there and you are still sleepy, because you wouldn't suggest
