I was just wondering what exactly the cache is used for? Following on from that, is it better to keep it or delete it?

ps i should mention that i dont have messenger plus, only the latest version of windows live

I believe the cache is a copy of a web page or messenger information on contacts saved on to your computer so it can load faster the next time you visit that site or log into messenger. Whether you keep it or delete it, it's up to you. With messenger I would probably leave it.

And note that saved display pictures and used custom emoticons, etc from your contacts are also a form of cache.
