As everyone else said, dont download for the sake of downloading. But get these programs if you want them.

For ISO mounting:
Daemon Tools

For ISO modifying/burning/mounting:
UltraISO

For Partition editing:
Acronis Disk Director

For Backups:
Acronis True Image (What can i say, Acronis makes good programs)

For Burning Games:
Alchol 120%

For Easy Interface Modifying:
Windows Blinds

For dock(Like OS X) solutions:
Rocket Dock
Object Dock

For Photo Editing:
Photoshop

For Easy Web Design:
Microsoft Front Page

For decent web design(but a bit harder):
Dreamweaver CS3

For flash creation:
Flash CS3

For decent Anti Virus:
Bit Defender 2008
AVG 8 (Aparantly)

For Decent Spyware protection:
Spyware Doctor
Spy Sweeper
Xoft Anti Spyware(its not that good, but VERY quick, so its usefull)
Super Anti Spyware (Wont find as much, but it will acctually get RID of them for good.)

For Decent Web Browsing:
FireFox 3
Opera 9.5(beta 2)(Best browser of all time if you ask me :))

Messenger:
Windows Live Messenger 8.5/9 (and Plus!)
Skype

Games:
COD4
Crysis
Quake Wars
Retro Wars

I cant think of anything else of the top of my head...
