  K this is how it went. 3 days ago i added a friend online and chatting was fine. nps at all normal.

  Yesterday morning was fine too. But when i logged in in the afternoon of yesterday, i got this " ----- has added you to his/her contact list stuff" ( This means that I didnt have him on my contacts prior to this, which is false as stated in the first para)

  Then this morning he disappeared again and i had to add him manually. I don't know if he received the "----- has added you" thing cos i assume he still has me on contacts and im the only one with the prob.

  So since then i can only see his email address (------@hotmail.com) in my contact list and its always offline. I know him and he's always online everyday same time. But it just doesnt show. I havent tried talking to him when he's "online" but showing offline yet, due to some circumstances.

  I suspect technical error or block. however unlikely is blocking as the conversation we had was fine.

What can i do? help is appreciated. thx

Get him to add you.

I think its happened to me before and sometime it helps if they add you first.

I tried no diff. and its surely not a block.

maybe try clearing contact cache

You can see if he has you in his contact list with Contact List clean up, a plus! feature. Also, it doesn't mean that when you talk to someone, they have you in their contact list. If you start a chat with him and he doesn't have you, the chat window will appear anyway.

Firstly, download Messenger Plus! Live form here:
http://www.msgpluslive.net/download/
Then, after you will have installed it go to the contact list and click the Plus! icon. Then, you will see a menu in which there will be an option "Contact List Clean-Up. Go there and you will be able to know if he has you in his contact list.

If you do come accross a block checker most of the time the send spam to you'r emails and steal your password. Beware.
