Right now when people send me a message it bounces back saying user is offline even though they can see me online.  when I log off, close the app, reboot the machine, whatever, I still appear online.  Anyone know WTF is going on here?

Sounds like server trouble. Unless you recently changed something in your network/internet configuration or firewall it will probably fix itself in a couple of hours. Nothing you can do about it if it's indeed server issues.

Try http://webmessenger.msn.com/ or see if you can login from another machine.

I've since found out this has been going on for a week.  Seems like only people I talk to alot can't get through to me, they get a user is offline message. But new adds can get through fine.  I've tried logging in at another location and it's the same story for those people.  Is there a way to transfer all my contacts to a new user name?  I'm thinking that's wha tI'm going to have to do even though I've had this account for like 8 years.
