O.P. Has World War 2 been covered to much in games?
Basically as the title says, In your opinion has the World War 2 genre been covered to much in First Person Shooters? Has it not been included enough, or what are your general thoughts?

If you have nothing constructive to post, don't post it! :D

Personally i love the World War 2 Genre and am looking forward to the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War title. I am not a fan of the MoH approach to the WW2 but Call of Duty have tackled it very well so far ! :)
...there used to be a signature here :)

Yes.

COD is fucking ridiculous. Talk about milking something.

COD:WaW is already lame before it even comes out for me too, as they're just shoving these titles out the door being exactly the same and just shoving a new title on it. It's like Resistance 2(which basically is the same game + a load of stolen things from other games eg Half Life).

In general I don't like it when companies oversell a series just to make some quick bucks. At least do something to make the new version something to actually get excited about, something new, instead of just reiterating the same ol' same ol'.

I totally agree there, but the new rumored CoD6 looks pretty original (future warfare) and i know many FPS are set in the future, but a CoD game has never done it before

If I play a war game, I generally prefer that it be about a war that never existed. (for example a war with a bunch of alien invaders).  World wars strike a little bit too close to the heart. (and the family :P)

 so basically, when running out of ideas for war games, we should just create a new one to get 10 years worth of war games

New CoD is going to suck. This is the only CoD game apart from the console versions that wasn't developed by infinity ward. So expect more crap but just with the CoD prefix.
