O.P. My first site, opinions =]
www.th3rmal.com

This is my first attempt at creating a website, so i want to know what you guys think of it =]

About 2 and a half weeks ago I decided to learn HTML and CSS, so i thought i might as well make myself a personal website while im at it. Went through ALOT of changes, cus i kept creating shit, or things just wouldnt work at all. Finally things started to work out, and that got the ball rolling. Im not very good (actually not good at all) at graphics work, so youll have to excuse the shitty graphics.

Been working on it for a while, changing things, remaking things, adding things and what-not, but i think its in a stage where i need opinions from alot more than 2 or 3 people.

Please no stupid comments (eg. "its crap, gtfo the internet"), i need some constructive criticism and opinions welcome =]

KNOWN ISSUES: I know that in IE, the right menu sticks right up at the top, also the <hr /> tags and the bg color arent working properly, i'll be fixing that soon, so in the mean time, please use FF if you can =]

And a big thanks to Nathan and Eddie who helped me regarding my coding problems =]

To be brutally honest, I don't want to spend any time on that website. From a design perspective, especially the colours, everything is just out of whack. The layout itself looks good, but your background and so on could use change. Something more easy on the eyes is good. Pastels are a good start :). Good luck and keep me updated.

Pastel colors are soft, easy for the eyes, colors which nicely blend into eachother. A pastel palette is like a gradient between two very close soft colors.

Google "pastel colors" and the first result will be a website which uses a mix of pastel colors which nicely go together: http://www.behr.com/behrx/inspiration/emotional_3.jsp

notice all the soft variations of light brown and purple.

also, eg: http://www.graphic-design.com/DTG/Graphics/color/pastels.html

So do you think i should change just the bg color, or completely redo it all?

HINT: Don't use PNG fiels with transparency / alpha. IE6 doesn't like them, and makes your page quite ugly. The layout doesn't quite work properly either.
