O.P. Nicknames in Live Messenger not honored by Messenger Plus
Hi!

A few years back, the nickname feature was introduced in Live Messenger. The idea is that you can set your own name for a contact, which is always displayed instead of whatever cryptic name the contact has chosen for herself. Any nicknames are also stored server-side, so they follow you between computers. I use this a lot because I just can't keep track of who is who on my contact list when people keep changing their display names.

(There was a similar feature in Messenger Plus, but it has since been removed.)

The problem now with Messenger Plus is that it does not display these nicknames in Tabbed Chatting - the display name of the user is still shown here instead.

I attach a screen shot showing the problem.

Best regards,
Daniel Stolt

PS. This is the only remaining thing bothering me in Messenger Plus, and it's been there for so long... I should have reported it a long time ago, but I figured it was so obvious it would inevitably be fixed soon, but alas... several years later it's still here!

This is not a bug but a limitation. Messenger Plus! cannot access the nicknames set in Windows Live Messenger. :) It has also been mentioned here
