O.P. AV software conflicting
Hello guys, I just installed McAfee Total Protection. I've the latest version of MsgPlus on the messenger.

The messenger is working really slow, sometimes it hangs completely; names at the contact list are not displaying as usually they do.

Any idea? Thanks in advance.

I would personally remove McAfee. Have you setup the rules the IM clients?

Going slightly offtopic..

If you paid for it keep it but if not use another AV. As SLM said you AV might not be allowing WLM to run properly because "secrurity precations". + Allowing only some features to work properly :)

Good Luck.

Which AV do you recommend?

I second MenthiX's suggestion. You do have to pay but it's a really good anti-virus. It's simple to use as well as updated alot, low CPU usage etc :P

You can use -other- ways to get nod32 free (cough torrent cough cough)  :P

For a free AV use AVG or something :) Havent really used it but everybody else says it decent so i guess.. yeah.. i suppose :P

AVG's decent enough. It sits in the system tray, and only makes itself known when it finds something. System performance remains high too :)
