I'm attempting to create a quick text, which at the end sends a sound, so i put in at the end /sound #whateverthesoundidwas which always works when you manually type it in, but it doesnt seem to work at the end of another quick text

how else can i make it send the sound i want?

Is "create multiple messages" selected for the Line breaks option? You need that if you want your /sound command treated as a separate message.
