I was looking through my chat log directory and found a file named tmpdecrypt_XXXX.html. I realised this was a temporary file with my unencrypted chat log for when i view them, however i had not viewed them in a long time. It may have been because MSN might have crashed before it could have deleted the file some time.

So my point is, i suggest the Messenger Plus! periodically searches your chat log directory for these temporary files and deletes them, its a fairly big security risk.

The Log Viewer has several protections to prevent that from happening. One of those is to search for old decrypted file that may have been left over following a computer crash, everytime the log viewer starts.

Whatever the reason was for this file to be left over, this is strange and should not have happened. I guess there was a combination of bad luck (or file access rights?).
