I downloaded couple of skins from this site that says that are supposed for 8.5. I have exactly the 8.5 version but they won't work.
When I apply them and restart the messenger, I get the basic WLM skin.

Solution?
Just make sure you have the latest version of Messenger Plus. Some of the later skins need you to have the latest version otherwise they won't work.
