been wanting one of those ever since i first saw it......ended up getting a 750GB seagate instead (cos there was a fuck-off huge sale on them at maplin)

bit wierd that it doesn't have ethernet when it's one of its main boasts is being a network drive......seems a bit dicky connecting via usb when you consider the relative transfer speeds of usb and ethernet

oh well :P

This doesn't have RJ45?
my mistake my mate told me it did, is there one on the wd site that does?

i did say 'i think' cos i didn't check weather it had Ethernet:P

Yes, it's similar to a server, but the problem is you'll end up with two devices trying to manage the writes. You wont find one that will work because when you have the drive connected via USB, it acts like a local drive with the host machine wanting to do direct writes to it (in this case your reciever). When you are using the NAS it wants to act as the controling host. The enclosure is not setup for that kind of activity.

i found the right one this time, but i'm not sure if it will work the way you want it too
