O.P. Messenger stays FOREVER logging in... and nothing happens

seriously, i don't even get a error code. it just stays logging in... i already left if for an hour. it's still there.
what is going on?
can anyone help me?

Have you tried closing and re-opening messenger and trying again?

Have you re-started your computer?

Which version of Messenger are you running?

yes, i've done all of the above many times. i have Windows Live Messenger.

You could always try upgrading to the WLM 9/14 beta.

Is Messenger able to log in on any other computers in your house?

yes. all the other house computers messengers are working.
it's just my pc. =/
it's been trying to sign in for about 4 hours now.
