O.P. Registering a domian with godaddy
Well i'm going to register a domain with godaddy.

If i do all my personal and private information will be listed and will be vailable for a whois look up.

To protect this they charge £7 when the domain is like 60p

quote:
Private Registration - 1 yr
**************.INFO     1     £6.18     yr     £6.18

Is there anyway to avoid this price but still be private?

---

Thanks :)

Seconded, although, they only give you that protection for a year.

A long term solution could be DreamHost, but then again, their domains and hosting are a little bit expensive.

Ok. I'm going the name cheap :) Thanks guys.

Now. Hosting!

I've been looking around and seen some good places. I'm trying to avoid free hosts that are generally unreliable.

Anyone recommend a good CHEAP host? As i can't fund it with alot of cash.

Thanks guys. (btw, just noticed i posted this in GCC and not tech talk. sorry :))

Go for DreamHost. They've got pretty good hosting. Im hosted with them for about 2 years and don't have a complain since then.

The prices might seem high, I'll PM you a discount coupon code.

Namecheap does hosting as well, perhaps you should check that out?

Also, I've heard alot of good things about A Small Orange.

I have a DreamHost account I'm trying to get rid of, Its paid in full until October. I paid about $200 USD for 2 years, therefore about $70 value left? I'll let it go for $40 or equivalent.
