please forgive me if this is the wrong place to put this question but i would like to find out about file sharing option that used to be in messenger before i updated to plus. now i can only find a link to send a single file, i found the file sharing a nice option befor ebut cannot find it now why is this

Sharing Folders were removed from Windows Live Messenger 2009.  They have instead been replaced by Windows Live SkyDrive.

In a conversation window click "Files" then "Publish files online"

You can then choose whether to make a folder available publicly (visible to the whole internet), just to your network, just to yourself, or just to selected contacts

Note: Messenger Plus! does not replace Messenger.

Messenger Plus! is an addon for Windows Live Messenger; it runs on top of Messenger. This means that you're still using Windows Live Messenger like always. The only difference is that you'll have some more options and features if you also have Messenger Plus! installed.

of this i am aware. but i feel the other way of sharing was much better when you where talkin to someone and wanting to share a file or two, instead as i understand it they now have to go to the photos on my spaces page and view them there

Files can still be transferred in conversations as before.

And for viewing photos there is the new 'photoshare' feature which shows the photos in a large, viewable size in the conversation window, giving you the option to save them if you wish.

It means that you can show someone a photo without them having to have it transferred and then opened

thank you for the replies. i wonder if it would be possible  if some one could please direct me to the photoshare option. i am aware of the send single file option but "photoshare" sounds like it is different all together

Send a photo to your contact (who also has the new Windows Live Messenger) and PhotoSharing will (unfortunatly to some) automatically start.

Yeah, I used the old File Sharing feature too and miss it. But (unfortunatly again) it will not come back.


PS: In the new upcomming update of Plus! there will be an option to disable PhotoSharing so that it wont be started automatically when you send a screenshot or something. Instead a simple file send will be done.
