O.P. Huh?  requesting help with scripts. to do with quicktext.
in Messenger Plus, i use the quicktext thing for ascii art... so if i type /coke... this comes up:

      ,d888a                          ,d88888888888ba.  ,88"I)   d
     a88']8i                         a88".8"8)   `"8888:88  " _a8'
   .d8P' PP                        .d8P'.8  d)      "8:88:baad8P'
  ,d8P' ,ama,   .aa,  .ama.g ,mmm  d8P' 8  .8'        88):888P'
,d88' d8[ "8..a8"88 ,8I"88[ I88' d88   ]IaI"        d8[
a88' dP "bm8mP8'(8'.8I  8[      d88'    `"         .88
,88I ]8'  .d'.8     88' ,8' I[  ,88P ,ama    ,ama,  d8[  .ama.g
[88' I8, .d' ]8,  ,88B ,d8 aI   (88',88"8)  d8[ "8. 88 ,8I"88[
]88  `888P'  `8888" "88P"8m"    I88 88[ 8[ dP "bm8m88[.8I  8[
]88,          _,,aaaaaa,_       I88 8"  8 ]P'  .d' 88 88' ,8' I[
`888a,.  ,aadd88888888888bma.   )88,  ,]I I8, .d' )88a8B ,d8 aI
  "888888PP"'        `8""""""8   "888PP'  `888P'  `88P"88P"8m"

because of the 1100 character limit in msn, i could only use ascii art less than 1100 characters. i recently got stuff plug allowing me to use 5000 characters, i thought it was gonna be sweet, but when i typed /whatever it didnt do the full picture, only the 1100 characters. i guess im either requesting a script or an external program (preferably a script) which allows me to do quicktexts of 5000 characters (or more if possible).

IIRC, StuffPlug doesn't automatically lift the character limit on a fresh install; you need to check the option to do this.

btw, StuffPlug has been discontinued as of WLM2009.

oh no, the 5000 character limit works fine when i just type/copy and paste something over the 1100 limit (i already ticked that option). it seems that when the quicktext script pastes the text that i specified it to do so, it doesn't paste everything, just the first 1100 characters. hope you can understand that well enogh.

I think Plus! can not tell if you have a higher limit so has to still truncate it at whatever it's own internal limit is...

Then it's probably a problem with Messenger Plus! Live itself; it can't detect whether the limit has been increased to 5000 characters, so it doesn't let you do this. Seeing as this is most likely the case, there's not much you can do about it, and I don't think Patchou will provide a fix as StuffPlug has been left behind from the new 2009 version.

EDIT: Beaten to it :P

yeah, i guess realised all that i just didnt know how to put it into good wording lol (thx for doing it for me). is it possible to have a a new script all together which does the same as quicktexts, but doesnt abide by a 1100 character limit?

Edit: if its possible to make this but no one is willing to the make this script for me.... how can i get started with learning myself? i have no programming knowledge what so ever, so would i be wasting my time?

I don't think it will ever be possible as the 1100 character limit is hard-coded into Plus!, and cannot be changed using a script. There is only so much that scripts can do, just as any other programming language is limited (albeit some not so much).

Perhaps, but you'd need to know how to reverse-engineer an application or something, I'm not an expert on these sorts of things. But it's highly unlikely that Patchou will change this, again, because StuffPlug is no more and hence there is no need to check whether it is installed or not so as to raise the character limit.
