Hey ii use the latest windows live messenger with messenger plus;;
ii have a username which ive used for a while and now ii need to change it ;;
so ii have tried and all other computers are fine but whenever ii sign in on this computer it has reset to my old name even after ii have changed it on another computer and signed out ;; what can i do please??

have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling WLM? that might work, i had some problems with WLM and after reinstalling it it worked fine again.

No, all your emoticons and display pictures should remain intact.

Yes

Sounds like either your name changes are not sent to the Messenger notification server properly. If the problem was gone when you removed Plus!, I'd have said it could be a script reverting your name.

try logging onto msn's web messenger:

http://webmessenger.msn.com

and change your display name on there.  then gracefully sign out, and sign back into WLM and see what happens.


Also, do you have WLM set to use the same display name & picture whenever you are?

I'll Try that and no it also resets that on my laptop "/
