O.P. TL-WN951N Limited / No Connectivity
Hello folks,

I am not very good at Wireless and I am having troubles with my mates wireless setup, he is using a TL-WN951N PCI Card, and it continually says Limited or No Connectivity, I have tried setting it up on Windows XP and Windows 7 and both systems receive the same error.

It connects to the router, receives an IP Address, and according to the utility it has a "Good" connection, and according to Windows there is a 2/3 bar connection.

Any suggestions folks?

The router assigns IP Addresses between 10.0.0.2 - 10.0.0.150.
The computer receives the IP Address 10.0.0.5. Nope, doesn't ping out and doesn't load web pages etc.

I thought they're usually 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.255 ?

You can modify the router's DHCP settings to set any IP Address range you wish, and that is the one they chose.

Have you tried using an IP in the normal range that Spunky said?

I think it's often modems that use that kind of range but I have seen routers do it too

my range is 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.255, and I'm yet to come across one that uses a zero,
well what happens if you assign a static ip address?

its not that uncommon my old router used the range 10.0.0.2-10.0.0.255

sounds like a problem with the router connecting to the net, rather then a problem with the computer connecting to the router

Just thought the DHCP might be the issue. Have you tested the phone line?

EDIT: Reason I say this is because we had a similar issue at work with the alarm system. The line was crackling slightly because a wire needed replacing in a junction box and it was interfering with the data being sent/received. It could stop the router from connecting.

Nope, can plug in a Laptop in the same room as the computer, as well as my iPhone and get a perfect connection without a stress.

I tried a static IP address, and the same issue occurs.
