I prefer not to have an AV... slows the computer down too much... but that is because I download of trusted sites and don't often visit the nasty ones...

I have used NOD32, it was quite good and stops a lot of communication from unknown programs. One of my friends has viruses and they were getting out of control with Norton but he was able to stop them with NOD32.

I have heard good things about McAfee... gets the most amount of viruses compared to any apparently.

Don't, what ever you do use Norton. It will slow down your laptop so much you will try and break it, plus it doesn't even get a lot of the viruses (especially the ones that go onto USB via the autorun.ini)
