The background(s) you configured are actually a skin. Got to the Messenger Plus! options and browse to 'Customize!' -> 'Skins'. You can remove the personal skin there.
Finish the problem

As told in the instructions of the Background Changer script, if you want to remove the background picture, simply leave (or make) the picture field blank, and press "ok".

After that you can uninstall the Background Changer script.

PS: note that the Background Changer script changes the old-style background of your contactlist. This has got absolutely nothing todo with skinning. As a matter of fact, even if you install a skin, the background will still be there (physically on disk, on in some cases visible in Messenger).

The background used by the Background Changer script is the file lvback.gif in your Messenger installation directory. Thus, removing (or changing) that file will have the exact same effect as if you use the Background Changer script.
