O.P. Speakers - Advice Needed
Hey guys, I'm looking to get some speakers for my TV setup and need some help.

I don't have much experience with them so won't know if what I'm getting will meet my needs :P

I'd like a 2.1 or 5.1 set that will connect to the following:

Sony 32" V-Series BRAVIA LCD TV
Sky+ HD Box
PS3 Slim
SONY DVP-NS708H HDMI Upscaling DVD Player

Let me know what would be best for that.  I'm not looking to spend a fortune, I just want something that will give me good 2.1 sound from all devices.

Thanks :)

buy a cheap old hifi (sony or someone decent), just keep the speakers & buy an amp (y)

mine (or should i say my old setup) cost less than £40 in total, sounded amazing & was loud enough to wake everyone in the street

Also, if your getting old ones make sure there shielded from interference. My speakers all get the noise when I get texts. :(.

So the best way to do it is with an amp and then just plug any old speaker set into it?

Got any suggestions on an amp that'd have the kind of connections I'd need?  I want it to be fairly decent quality so that it lasts for a while

without doing any reaserch i'd guess the tv, sky, dvd player will all have RCA Connections (and possibly coaxial or optical), the PS3 has an optical connection (or could just be routed through the tv via hdmi)

so depends on what you're looking to spend; a RCA/analog amp is likely to be cheaper than a digital/mixed one.

Having just looked, the TV has RCA, the DVD player has RCA & Coax.....I don't have Sky yet so don't know what that has and the PS3 just has Optical.

If the PS3 (and DVD player and Sky I assume) are plugged in via HDMI, will having the amp just going to the TV get the sound for those too?

Or is it better to have the HDMI just for video and then the other devices plugged directly into an amp for sound?

Edit: Picture of Sky+ HD box

That has 2 optical and a coaxial, so I think that'd give me the best results?
