First of all I'm going to get a motherboard, I want 4-6GB's of ram so It's gonna have to be 64bit compatible. I was looking at this, with SATA3 & USB3 support.

I know what I'm doing, I can build one fine. However, Is there some sort of standard for cases or whatnot? Will they all fit or what?

its best to get a case Bigger, you dont wanna end up having a tight fit when you put all hardware in it.

Buy a case that supports your MoBos form factor (They one you're thinking about is standard ATX. I think my latest was a micro-ATX, although I have quite a large case(*) considering what's inside for the same reasons ICQ pointed out about not making it cramped.

I would say if possible, check for things on the case like audio wiring etc because I've come across people using different standards and it makes plugging it into the MoBo a bitch. I can't use the side headphone panel, or the one from my card reader, just because they're labelled pretty ambiguously.

However, the one I have at the moment Is fine but has one less bay on 3.5 and 5.2. Should I get a new one? Is there any point?

Reasons why you may want a new case:

1) Your old case is wrong form factor (e.g. mini-ATX and your new board is full ATX, see Spunky's link).

2) Your old computer is a major brand product (e.g. Dell, HP, Acer and similar).  These companies are big enough to have everything custom made for them and putting a different motherboard in one of those is always a bitch.  Even though they now mostly use standard form factors, they still bite you on mounting post locations, LED/button connections and other details, making it more trouble than it's worth.

3) You or someone else may have a use for your old computer.  This is much more likely than anyone needing an old motherboard in a bag, so it's worth considering and may be a good reason to get a new case.
