1. This can be done using A-Patch. A program that patches Messenger to remove adds etc. http://apatch.org

2. This can be activated by opening the Preferences > Messenger > Event Logging. To open the preferences type '/prefs' in a conversation Window ;)   

3. To-do this type ctrl + UP or '/viewlogs' in a conversation window.
