O.P. Webcam shows up as gray box
I'm using Windows 7 and in both 2011 and 2009 Build 14.0.8817.416, I can see myself fine when I go to setup the webcam as well as when I initially start a chat.  As soon as it connects, both webcam boxes (mine and the other users) show up as blank gray boxes.  The person I'm chatting with is using build 2009 14.0.8089.726.  Is the older build incompatible with the new builds?  If so, does anyone know where i can find the .726 build?  Thanks in advance.
Ok I found the 726 build thanks to the search function, but it would still be useful to know if this build is incompatible with future releases.  Thanks.

Windows Live Messenger 2011 can video call with contacts with older versions perfectly fine.

Do you have any security software that may be blocking the webcams? If so, disable it (or remove if necessary) and then try.
