Hi,

I read on a site about a new Messenger Beta, alot of people already have it (reading their comments)

Some of their comments:

- It looks really good
- No nickname support

It's a Belgian site who supports it, download link is Microsoft

The name seems rather suspicious, but it looks like it's a msn page

Do you mean newer than Messenger 2011?

Hmm, appears to be owned by "Hostbasket NV"

There are a few other "Messenger" related domains going to that server so I'd say stay clear of it to be honest

Old Messenger Beta actually . The download they are offering is 15.4.3001.809, signed August 2010. So it is one of the old Messenger 2011 beta builds. The site also mentions it is a preview for Windows Live Messenger 2011 which should release in September (2010).

Having that said a new Messenger (16.x) is supposedly already in development, but only tested by a very select group. Nothing except for buildnumbers leaked out from that so far AFAIK.

Probably a marketing campaign. Paid by Microsoft, but often hosted/registered by a third party.

So the person I know still uses an old version

Hostbasket is one of the biggest and most reputable hosting companies in Belgium, nothing dodgy about it (they recently merged with 'Telenet' though -in other words, getting even bigger now-).
