O.P. Remove the update
Do you want te remove the update from Microsoft? There is a way to use the old version, but it is Dutch. Use a translater tool to translate to English.

You need the old version and then replace the messenger to the directory.

@MKMK: that method of replacing files is flawed and has limitations. Not to mention "MSN 9.0" is not correct. "MSN" is something completely different; it is a collection of sites and services provided by Microsoft, nothing todo with Windows Live Messenger (anymore).
