A friend of mine and I came up with this idea about five years ago. We would send files to each other quite often, and to check up on how far the download has come along, we would have to scroll up until we find the download progress bar.

That's tedious, we were hoping an update would come along which puts any active download's progress bar on the side of the msn window (above or under our use-pictures) or any other area which is constantly visible.

Five years later, still no such update or feature exists. Maybe you folks at MSN Plus could program it in for a future update?

It was talked about but isn't easy to implement and therefore never made it in.

It was possible to do, but only by sniffing the network packets. There was no RELIABLE way to do this which made development too hard. I did get close to something once, but decided against releasing it due to problems with the packet sniffer
