You don't know math.

Of course, 2600 is diferent from 26.

But the 0s that are not important are the front ones.

01 = 1

26 <> 2600

Simple math.

Programs make their versions look "good" by taking off the front 0's. The true version has front 0's. (!VER) shows true versions.

Thus, this is no bug. (Y)

ViVa please don't double post.

About the extra '0' I guess Patchou didn't think it was needed due to the fact that it is kinda meaningless like people say. Even Mircosoft skip the '0' sometimes so I guess it is meaningless.

@ this whole thread...
version numbers aren't treated the same way as maths are... 5.01 is NOT 5.1...

But i think this information is gotten from the registry or from a win32 API call.. which means this bug might *not* be related to plus (i'm not sure though.)

as ME sed

@ Leo, I don't know math? :') I was being sarcastic to Scone in case you didn't notice.

@ Milennium_edition, finally someone who understands my point. No, it might not be a Messenger Plus! bug, but still I think Patchou should change it to 5.1.2600 :P

@ spokes, DOH! Explain it to these ppl, not to me! :)

ironically, it is NOT.
version numbers are unique, wether there's a zero in front of it or not, a zero behind it or not.

which means
5.01 is not 5.1 and is not 5.10.

RE: Tiny bug
doesn't it depend on the particular system being used? there are no strict rules about it.. well at least that's what i thought.
