when msgplus is installed, it should register a protocol (like msgplusunlock:// or something) that launches mptools.exe with some parameter that makes it show a balloon in the notification area explaining how to unlock messenger. this would make it easier to help people on the forums and on IRC who accidentally locked their messenger without realizing it, as they'd just be able to click a link and then be directed to the icon they need to click -- e.g.:

newb: how do i unlock my messenger??/

me: click here

Or simply make the option disabled by default in the welcome wizard. It would solve a lot of issues. From all users seeking help in #msgplus, over 75% inquire how to unlock their Messenger. I believe this is a serious design flaw.

the first time you lock it it has a popup that asks you if you really wanna lock it? (i can't be the first one to think of that, was it removed?)

Don't forget the Plus! menu item "Lock Messenger" which I believe the 75% of newbies lock their Messenger via that item for the first time (it's only my guess, doesn't need to reflect reailites ).
