RE: Prison Break
My dad and I are both glued to this show. Its a nice plot and it builds week upon week. Keeps you watching and guessing. I believe its back on in the US around the 20th March, so should give the UK peeps some time to catch up. T-Bag scares me :'(

RE: 1&1 how good?
I recently purchased a domain only from them, pointed it at my own webspace, and so far its been flawless. Was a fairly rapid service, only slightly delayed because I was messing around with my DNS settings before it had fully gone through! 8-) They ...

RE: Recommend Some Good Music/Artists in The "Electironic" part of music :)
Why not listen to some streaming music from http://di.fm/, which interestingly has a choice list which exactly matches your list of music you are currently downloading. Streaming music is godd because you never know what you are going to get :P

RE: Windows XP Recovery Console HELP!
Do you need to get any files off the PC, or are you just going to blow the whole lot away and start from scratch? One alternative that has served me well in the past, is to use a Linux distro which boots and runs from CD. This could a root to getting...

RE: Hopper...let's Hop! (3.04.0275: Updates available!)
How about calling it Toast Slices? Yummy... :P For me the delimiter of %% is fine. Its different enough to be easy to remember, but also easy enough to not be too difficult 8-) Looks good though. Hopefully they'll be a bit easier on you at universit...

RE: hi... a bit of truth.
To lose such a popular member of the forums is always sad. To lose a popular member who is not a guy is even sadder!! :) I don't post here much, but I do read lots, and its sad to see you go. I've been there myself and you just need to make sure yo...

RE: Which Software Firewall?
My recommendation goes to Agnitum Outpost Pro. Check out a good review of it over at PCPro. It isn't the full internet security suite, but it is one of the best firewalls yo...

RE: Harry Potter 6 ending, Don't come in if you haven't read it!
Personally I don't think Dumbledore will be coming back. It would be a bit of a poor ending if he somehow came back to life. Might as well just bring everyone back to life, like Harry's parents. Bit of a cop out really :-/ I'm not so convinced tha...

RE: convert .ogg to .mp3?
Why do you want to convert to mp3? Ogg is a superior format, all things being equal :P However, check out http://www.dbpoweramp.com/. It does the job well enough, and allows conversion to a variety of formats. Remember everytime you re-encode somethi...

RE: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
If memory serves me correctly, I think the author J.K. Rowling has said that neither Harry Potter nor Voldemort are the Half-Blood prince. The book is due for release on the 16th July. I can't wait! :)

RE: Blog Software?
Another vote for Wordpress. I'll be honest and admit I've not tried many different blogs, just WP and Movable Type. I found that Wordpress is easy to set up and use, its being constantly developed, and has a great level of support and plugins, maki...

I think the point people are making is that if he really has gone, we are going to miss him. Its not really fair to him to just shrug him off like that without saying something because he was a really big part of this community. But yeah we need to ...

RE: Forum feature requests! + cry out to helpers! IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!!
Fair enough, but could you possibly elaborate why? Most people would be willing to wait a few days, maybe even just 24 hours. If it persuades them to search first it maybe worth it. If after searching they can't find it, then I am all for them post...

RE: Forum feature requests! + cry out to helpers! IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!!
I agree with EvilSeph and his comments. While the community has grown, so has the level of useless posts. Being able to turn off T&T in the latest posts page only goes so far. Often topics are full of useless comments. What annoys me most is when peo...

RE: Noooooooooooooooooooooo :'(
I've been on these forums for over 2 years (although I don't post much, I like to think quality beats quantity) and Cookie has been a key part as long as I remember. If he leaves then as a community we have lost something special. The classic "see...

RE: Tiny bug
I'm not saying that having a proceeding 0 in a version number is unusual. However the version of that MSN is 7.0.0777! So it is correct. The think I find usual is that you are essentially saying that version 1.1 is the same as version 1.01 wh...

RE: Tiny bug
Er... why do decimals have a zero in front of them? Nowhere in Windows have I seen it written as 5.01.2600, so why do you assume there is a zero that is just hidden? ^o) So is it actually written as 5.01.02600 then? If decimals have a zero in front ...

RE: Tiny bug
Windows XP is 5.1.2600. That extra zero is incorrect, no matter what spin you try to put on it. Hidden zeros or whatever, what is the problem with making it say 5.1.2600? Goto Start > Run > winver. See exactly what Microsoft think :) Version numbers ...

RE: control my home msn with other computer
Look into RealVNC or a similar program. Install the server on your home machine and then you just need the viewer to connect remotely. Only trouble you could have is either with firewalls blocking it (you'd know bet...

RE: K700i
I currently own this phone. The battery life is much better once you get the firmware updated (the original firmware had a flaw with the battery life indicator). I get about 4-5 days out of it, with light use. The Quickshare sticker at the bottom of ...

RE: Is Firefox better than IE for businesses? [old thread warning]
Even though I have actively touted Firefox several times on this forum, I have to say that I believe that currently IE is better for corporate businesses than Firefox. IE has a huge support structure in place, generally office applications are design...

RE: AMD Sempron
The Semprons are actually a mixture of rebadged Althon XP chips and indeed the Athlon 64 with the 64-bit part disabled. They are supposedly the budget range of chips as AMD move towards making the Athlon 64 range their mainstream line of CPU's. Depe...

RE: The Best Anti-Virus Software?
