RE: compare MP3's
It's time to be picky again! MP3 is based on MPEG Audio Layer 3 encoding - that is, MPEG1, not to be mixed with later revisions of the MPEG standard. As far as I know, MPEG3 was aborted and never used in the big world... So there's just MP...

RE: Audio extraction without recompressing?
Blah, you replied while I was editing my post a bit... :p /me won't comment on the first replies (to avoid :argue:). :p Oh... I know I can do that. :p But I want the original compression so I could have a small file size + same quality + no redundan...

RE: Audio extraction without recompressing?
I can't keep the same bitrate when moving from MP3 to PCM without losing quality, as PCM has no compression. The audio in MP3 is decompressed before it can be played by the computer, so in fact every song can be represented at 1440 (?)[/nop...

RE: Audio extraction without recompressing?
Blah.... :p Any audiophile will tell you that recompressing data that's been compressed using a lossy codec is a bad idea. The quality will always degrade somewhat (depending on how you recompress the data and how it was compressed before). But even...

RE: Audio extraction without recompressing?
Thanks 'FD:), but I'm afraid that's no good.... That program does two things: - Decompresses (decodes) the audio stream from the WMV file using a WMA codec, which produces a Wave file; - Compresses (encodes) the raw audio stream using a codec and ...

Audio extraction without recompressing?

RE: Messenger Plus! 3 - Now Beta
Yes, but in my opinion, a public release candidate (which, as far as Patchou and the testers concern, is bug-free) would be a good idea, because then thousands of Plus!-fanatics could test it and make sure it's really bug free, on all strange system...

RE: Messenger Plus! 3 - Now Beta
I think a public beta/RC phase would be a good idea, but there's a lot of time before that (private beta phase + translation phase), so you'll have to wait a while... :p Patchou, congratulations for releasing the beta version, you've done a great ...

RE: Messenger Plus! 3 Progress
Choli: I wasn't talking about an auto msg saying "I can't auto-accept any more files" (which, by the way, would be redundant IMO), I was talking about the message that Windows/MSN Messenger itself shows to you (user B) when you can't rece...

RE: Messenger Plus! 3 Progress
If the error is only written in the conversation window, I see no reason to have Plus! do the limiting itself. Being flooded with that kind of messages is exactly the same as being flooded with normal messages from a contact. It can happen to anyone,...

RE: Messenger Plus! 3 Progress
Edit: Blah, Hoof beat me to it.... :p Well, I still made another point so I won't delete this post. @Choli: No, the person who sends can't be flooded as he's the one who's sending the files. The other person, however, can be flooded with f...

RE: Hosting website on... my own computer?
You can check your IP address each time you reconnect to see if it changes or not. http://shoutbox.menthix.net/ip.php What kind of Internet connection do you have? It might not be a good idea to host a site on your PC if it has a slow upst...

By "setup switch", do you mean the feature I requested (:gfdrin:)? (That is, being able to install Plus! for a specific user only, even when you have admin rights.)

Central Israel = 14 chars  I think it's not a bad idea. :p I also think that small flags would look nice. :p

RE: Messenger Plus! 3 Progress
Had to split it into two parts because of the smiley limit. :blah: I'd say this is a good idea, but the /ping thingie isn't 100% reliable when checking if the contact has Plus! or not (they could disable the PING feature, there could be network pro...

RE: IRC!
I enjoyed running the server, but when it's a target for attacks it's just not fun anymore. I'm tired of this crap. I love IRCnet/EFnet, the original IRC networks (they were one network since the late 1980's when IRC was born, and split in 1994)....
