RE: How do I sort contacts by custom names?
Sadly its this limitation that's kinda holding me back from using custom names. Its only a small detail (probably requires loads of code!), but I just can't seem to come to terms with names not being in alphabetical order :undecided:

RE: FTP Client
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have used SmartFTP before, in fact my brother uses it, but I just can't seem to fall in love with it like some people. :undecided: I am currently using FlashFXP, which is not free, but there is a 30-day trial, so I...

FTP Client
Well I've just had enough of WS_FTP. So I'm asking for suggestions for a good, simple, stable FTP client, so I can upload a few files to my friend and download some too. Would prefer a free one of course. Thanks boys and girls! EDIT: Any good sugge...

RE: Hopper...let's Hop! (3.04.0275: Updates available!)
I am not sure we are quite talking about the same thing :) I understand that you can only hop on the contacts 3 times. I was saying that the drop down box says 1-5, when it should say 1-3 when hop on contacts is selected. See attached screenie. Or am...

RE: Hopper...let's Hop! (3.04.0275: Updates available!)
If I was being perdantic, I would say when hopping on a contact using the control centre, you are only allowed to do this 3 times yet in the hop options you can see 1-5 listed in the drop down box. (you can only select 1-3 tho). Is this a limitation ...

RE:
Very nicely implemented Guido :gfdrin: So would who can vote be limited to a certain few or is it best to open this up to lots of people. My concern with any system is, that if there are too few people voting, the system won't tell us anything. As w...

RE: Our New PC
Cough cough, RAID 0 uses striping to increase speed. RAID 1 uses mirroring which has no increased performance. RAID 5 offers a bit of both. Nice PC tho. Could do with a couple of them myself :gfdrin:

RE:
What if when you reach a certain level of reputation, you are allowed to vote? In a way, it would be like the staff members voted you in to do that. Or is this open to abuse too I wonder?
JeronimoForum & Website01-06-2004 at 06:16 PM
RE:
Ah yes, much clearer thanks WDZ. Yes I think having voting open to all would lead to abuse etc. As long as the staff aren't too lazy to vote (:dodgy:) then its a much better system. There is a good core of people here on the forums that provide accu...

RE:
I see there is a reputation with a little green square. Is a simple case of good reputation or bad reputation? Or are there levels of reputation? My thoughts are, with so many members, are people going to vote for each other??
JeronimoForum & Website01-06-2004 at 12:16 PM
RE:
How exactly does the reputation system work? I would be happy to see post counts go if we got a reduction in the amount of crap people post.

RE: Hopper...let's Hop! (3.04.0275: Updates available!)
Although the readme is still not perfect, it is much improved. Well done (y) Nice to see you have fixed those graphics bugs, and the control centre is much better looking as regards the layout. Very well done on this release :gfdrin:

RE: Hopper...let's Hop! (3.04.0275: Updates available!)
I will have a play around with this a bit more later. I am more busy than usual with it being Christmas! :) Its my bad for not reading the FAQ, but when I did open it up in Firebird, it displays incorrectly!! Works fine in IE. Check the attach...

RE: Hopper...let's Hop! (3.04.0275: Updates available!)
Ok a few problems... Basically if you look at the attached screenie, you will see that for some reason the options are black, with grey text on them. When I do actually select them, the text is also changed to black so I can't actually read the text...

RE: MSN Messenger 6.1.0207 realeased.
I don't think there is a way to find out the version without downloading it. Of course, there is always someone who downloads it before anyone you, so they will know what version it is, and you can read about it on the forums and one web pages I gu...

RE: Pruning users
I agree with Choli that maybe it should be a more recent month. A non poster who hasn't logged in for 9 months isn't likely to come back. And if they do, they can just re-register surely? Of course, if its feasible, email people, like last time, a...

RE: Board Version
WDZ has been threatening to update the board software for a while now. Some say he is too lazy, but I would never suggest that. He needs to make sure he has everything backed up and ready to roll before he does it. Also the board will have to be take...

RE: Let's talk again about code sharing
Sorry for being off topic, but must say thanks to UnderDOC. Although he never entered the arguement, he feels the need to apologise for some rogue members of his community. Very commendable

RE: Let's talk again about code sharing
I don't know any C... yet ;) I am torn between 2 minds on this subject. While we can assume there are only a few people who have been less that polite on this subject, the whole idea just seems a bit unfair towards you. Me personally, wouldn't want...
